Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligners are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you.
There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You simply pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete and you achieve the confident smile that you’ve always wanted. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.
Teeth whitening has become very popular in today’s world. Due to the extremely high interest in whitening procedures, we have included teeth whitening options at 32 Gems.
Teeth may become discoloured for a number of reasons. Everyday activities such as dietary and social habits can have a significant effect on the colour of your teeth. Caffeine, soft drinks, red wine, tea, tobacco and antibiotics, all can cause staining on teeth up to some degree.
At 32 Gems Dental Care we can offer:
You could carry this out in the comfort and convenience of your own home. We take impressions of your teeth which are then used to provide upper and lower bleaching trays made of a soft vinyl rubber. These trays are tailored to fit the exact contours of your teeth. They are specially moulded to fit into your mouth like a gum shield. This allows the home whitening gel to closely contact your enamel to produce an overall consistent, whiter smile.
The trays loaded with the gel can be used during the day or overnight. The length of treatment can be anywhere from 5-20 nights. We will schedule a review appointment for you in 2 weeks to review your teeth shade.
With Zoom whitening treatment you will see improvements at least up to eight shades. It is the perfect choice for the busy individual.
The active ingredients in the whitening products are usually either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. Both the take-home and in-Office systems work essentially in the same way: After the gel is applied to the surfaces of teeth, the active ingredient is broken down and oxygen gets into the enamel of the teeth leading to whitening of the tooth.
The initial stage involves a short preparation of the mouth in order to cover your lips and gums; this leaves the teeth exposed. This is followed by the application of the proprietary zoom whitening gel. The gel is then exposed to the zoom light which acts to gently penetrate the tooth surface and break down any stains or imperfections in colour. The gel is exposed in three sessions of 15 minutes each, making a total exposure time of 45 minutes during which you can relax and even watch television-leaving you able to whiten at your leisure!
CEREC Cad-cam Dentistry
CEREC is a revolutionary, state-of-the-art equipment using advanced computer technology for replacing amalgams and restoring cracked or chipped teeth. This sophisticated CAD-CAM technology enables us to create and place restorations with bio-compatible, tooth-coloured materials in a single appointment.
What does CEREC stand for?
- Chairside: The technology is in the dental operatory and used while you are in the chair
- Economical: The procedure is economical for both dentist and patient
- Restorations: The procedure restores your tooth to its natural beauty, function, and strength
- Esthetic: The restorations are metal-free and tooth-colored
- Ceramic: High-strength ceramics are used that are close in composition to your natural tooth structure
Single Appointment Dental Care
Most dental restorative methods require more than one visit to the dentist. On the first visit, you get an injection of anaesthesia, your tooth prepared, an impression was taken, and a temporary restoration put on your tooth. You make a second appointment for a couple of weeks later to have the temporary removed and have a definite restoration put on.
With CEREC, the procedure is completed in a single appointment, start to finish. The camera first scans the prepared tooth in just a few seconds, thus no impression needed. The restoration is milled out of a ceramic block in a few minutes and is ready to be placed immediately, so no temporaries required either!
We use the Finest Materials
With CEREC, we can use strong, tooth coloured ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function.
These materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. The mechanical properties of the ceramic materials are quite similar to that of the natural tooth enamel. So, when you consume anything hot or cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates. Therefore your tooth does not end up with cracks and breaking as can frequently happen with amalgam fillings. Also, the opposing tooth is not subject to additional wear & tear.
When over half of the tooth’s biting surface is damaged, the tooth may benefit more from an inlay/onlay.
These can be made from porcelain or gold. These pieces are bonded to the tooth to replace the damaged area of the tooth. An inlay is more similar to a filling and is used inside the cusp tips of a tooth. An onlay is more substantial reconstruction, extending over one or more cusps of the tooth.
These are bonded onto the teeth using special high strength resins and can actually increase the strength of the tooth up to 75%. Traditionally, gold has been the material of choice. In the recent years, porcelain is becoming popular due to its strength and colour which can match the natural colour of your teeth.
Dental Veneers are a conservative approach which means you do not have to cut a lot of tooth structure in order to achieve the results you are after. It is similar to placing a false fingernail on your nails.
Dental veneers provide the ideal solution for many cosmetic dentistry issues including Chipped and Uneven Teeth; Discoloured Teeth; Gappy Teeth; Damage Resulting from Gum Disease; Short Teeth; and Small Teeth.
In the initial consultation, we will discuss with you the various options and guide you to the most suitable approach.
We offer two different dental veneer options:
- PORCELAIN VENEERS
- COMPOSITE VENEERS
Porcelain veneers are ideal for more extensive treatments and where longevity of the veneer is the most important factor. Porcelain veneers are custom-designed and fitted, with great care taken to ensure a great colour match to your surrounding teeth. Porcelain veneers have a lifespan of about 15 years.
Usually, 2 appointments are required. Porcelain veneers involve an initial appointment for ‘tooth/teeth preparation’. At the following appointment, the porcelain laminate is bonded to the prepared tooth/teeth. You may be requested to contact our laboratory technician for a shade match appointment that will help us to achieve an excellent result.
Composite veneers are ideal for minimising tooth tissue removal and/or where the budget is a factor. The lifespan is about 7-8 years. They can be done in a single appointment.
