Dr Upma Bhasin
I qualified as a dental surgeon in 1991 from India.
After practising in India for 11 years, I migrated to NZ with my young family in 2003 after being mesmerised by the beauty of the country. I completed my NZDREX registration in 2005 and have practised in New Zealand for the past 9 years.
Although I trained as a general dentist, over the years I developed a keen interest in endodontics and cosmetic dentistry. To keep abreast with the latest advances and techniques, I am continually undertaking the professional development courses.
I love my work and my family – they are what makes me happy. I love to take up new challenges. If my positive attitude and my skills as a dentist can put a smile on your face, it would please me more that any words can say.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Otago in 2014. Prior to starting at 32 Gems Dental Care in 2016, I busied myself by gaining experience in both the public and private sector, as a Dental Therapist and Dental Hygienist.
My passion is in Health Promotion, and since 2011 I have been a volunteer for a variety of community-based health initiatives. I strongly believe that the foundation for healthy teeth and gums is good oral health education, and I am more than happy to share my knowledge with patients.
As someone who personally suffers from dental sensitivity, I pride myself on my ability to provide effective yet gentle treatment. The heart of my care planning lies in ensuring that my patients have a sound understanding of their oral condition, as well as the preventive and treatment options available.

As we expand our services, we will continue to maintain the high quality of care Kevin has given to all of his patients.
I have always lived in the Hutt Valley and I have two beautiful children and enjoy a number of outdoor hobbies. I look forward to meeting all new patients and seeing all the familiar faces I have gotten to know.
